9th Edition

  • Performance: Unchanged
  • Cost: Unchanged
  • Strategy: +1

While Demon Princes received a slight (in-line) point adjustment higher, there’s nothing to really point a finger to as an issue with them in 9th. Their value is still incredibly high and they can even benefit from the new cult powers in Ritual of the Damned.

Notes

  • Small point change but relatively good to the rest of the meta
  • Still a very strong board presence, buffs units beyond just Thousand Sons
  • Able to benefit from Cults
  • No changes to best options

8th Edition (Chapter Approved 2019)

Overall: 4

  • Performance: 4
  • Cost: 4
  • Strategy: 4

Notes

  • Talons are the best option right now due to everything costing the same and the extra attacks leading to higher output
  • Spell selections should try to take advantage of Demon Princes being the only units besides Magnus that have direct access to the Tzeentch Discipline
  • High Magister and Aetherstride make the best Warlord Traits to throw on Demon Princes
  • Dark Matter Crystal is exceptionally good on the Demon Prince, allowing you to “Jump” him to wherever you need him on the table
